Netflix has shown me that people who are most happy are people who are passionate about their work. Despite being a regional manager of a measly paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Michael Scott’s energetic fervor towards his job is what I aspire to reach. So now I’m after energetic fervor. And I’ve found it in multiple capacities of my life; namely through journalism, athletics, and being involved in student government and the community. Journalism has taught me to always listen and seek the truth. I have grown as an individual immensely by putting myself in the shoes of the people I focus on as a journalist. Swimming has taught me to always strive for the best in yourself and others and to never back down from a challenge no matter the difficulty. Being Student Body President in high school taught me leadership skills and how to be a thought-provoking public speaker. I am as confident as ever with a supportive community that entrusted me to be their leader.

Despite my numerous, diverse involvements throughout my life, I’m not sure what my job portfolio looks like in 2018 at the age of nineteen, but I’m excited to continue my journey towards it. I have unwittingly come to love public relations and have decided that is my path to success. I love communicating with others, solving problems especially on the spot, and that feeling of being stressed with a monstrous workload. I am successful at writing and social media, I have a background in sales and convincing people to join a team with my internship at World 50 in Atlanta, and I love to juggle many projects all at once. That is why I joined Nikki Barjon of the Barjon Group, or a public relations and branding firm in Atlanta, as an Accelerator on her team! As an Accelerator, I serve as intern thrown into real world situations and deals that she goes through. I think having the opportunity to see what a degree in public relations can get you has really helped open the doors to all new possibilities. Who knows, maybe I will find a relationship like Jim and Pam on the way!
